Final reminders ahead of the weekend

We're delighted you'll be joining us this weekend. Here follow some last reminders and thoughts from us:

Photo ID required for registration

Please ensure you bring valid photo ID for registration - we're keen to speed up the process from last year (yippee!). On which note, there is absolutely no rush to register at 18:00 on the dot - there is often a queue at this time so we hope to catch you at anytime between 18:00 and 21:55 on Friday evening or 06:00 and 08:00 on Saturday morning.

Overnight bags ≤13kg & ≤59L

A polite reminder that your overnight kit must be contained within a 59-or-less litre drybag and weigh no more than 13kg. Please see our website for further information

C & B course bus tickets

At registration, those opting to take on the C or B courses will be able to choose a Saturday morning bus 'ticket' as follows:

C course - 08:00 or 09:00

B course - 08:00, 08:30, (and 09:00 if required)

Space will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Any of the above times shoud leave plenty of time for completing the day's course, however, if you're wanting to take day one at a very leisurely pace, please try to choose an earlier slot!

Massage

For the first time ever at the GL3D, we're pleased to announce that we will be joined by Phil Davies, a fully qualified advanced sports massage therapist. Phil will be offering £10 15 minute slots between 2pm and 8pm on Saturday (day 1) and Sunday (day 2), and a limited service post-race on Monday.

More information about how you can benefit from Phil's treatment.

Bring cash

On Friday evening and Monday at the finish we'll have various items of highly-discounted, quality outdoor kit for sale. We *might* be able to accept card payments over £5 for shop items, however, we recommend you bring plenty of cash along for extras such as beer, massage, and Joey's fantastic coffee/tea/hot chocolate!

Apologies again that, despite doubling the size of the cinema this year, film tickets for 2016 sold out last month!

Last chance to share a lift

If you are travelling to this race, there is a very good chance (over 90%) that another runner who lives nearby is also entered. Why not car share and save on petrol costs? Simply tap in your postcode on the Racelifts.org site.

It only takes a minute to see how many runners are in your area, and then register. Choose whether you might be able to offer a lift, and/or if you're looking to get a lift. You're under no obligation, and you can opt-out if you change your mind.

Register now!

The Weather

We're expecting changeable conditions for the weekend, and it is likely to be colder than average for this time of year. Please wrap up well; bring an appropriately warm sleeping bag for camping and insulating layers for out on the hill. Liquid precipitation is to be expected and frozen precipiation is possible, especially up high!

We will be able to provide forecasts at the campsites during the event, and we recommend that ahead of Saturday you keep a good eye on the MWIS Lake District forecast.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday afternoon or first thing Saturday morning!

Regards,

The Great Lakeland 3Day™ event team.
