GL3D 2012 Location announced

After a break of two years, we wanted to ensure that the 2012 Great Lakeland 3Day™ was based right at the heart of the Lake District to guarantee that quintessential Cumbrian mountain experience. Therefore, the location we have chosen for the event center is Langdale.

Competitors will strike out from Langdale on a three-day mountain journey that will include some classic Lakeland mountains and some rarely visited, but beautiful areas. Full details of the course are only revealed to competitors once they have registered on the Friday night.

The event centre is within a few hundred metres of the iconic Lake District pub the Old Dungeon Ghyll and we expect many competitors will be gathering there on the Friday night to eat, drink, share stories and discuss the following days route. The Old Dungeon Ghyll will also be providing the finishers meal on the Monday… competitors will have three great days in the hills to build an appetite!

Competitors will be able park at the Langdale event centre for the weekend and camp here on the Friday night.
