Supporting Notes
Each GPX file contains:
'Waypoints' (labelled with corresponding checkpoint number and description) to assist in locating the official checkpoints identified on the Event Map handed out at registration.
'Trackpoints' so you can follow the planner's route.
Please note:
These files have been prepared with great care, but in case of any deviation from the information on the Event Map, the Event Map supersedes in every case. Please exercise good judgement when using these files and ensure that you always check back against the Event Map.
These contain just one suggested route around the course. We expect many competitors on Cafe and Herdwick courses, and those on any course with less navigational expereice, will choose to follow these routes. However, you are welcome to choose your own route between the checkpoints, exercising sound mountain judgement and observing any out of bounds fields or forbidden routes / paths / roads.
All courses can also access a digital version of the map on the Avenza app (includes all the checkpoints, but not the planner's routes). You can access this by scanning the QR code printed on your Event Map that you will receive at registration or via this link.
