SILVA GL3D day 2 2017

Day 2's courses saw all participants heading out of Great Langdale in various directions with the Wainwright and Expert courses heading over the Scafell massif and the Café course heading up to Angle Tarn. Harter Fell saw a conglomeration of all three courses before they dropped into the Duddon valley for overnight camp 2.

Earlier in the day, after the long drive around for the event team from Great Langdale, they arrived to a rather sorry-looking marquee. An hour and a half and a few too many gusts of wind later, even with the arrival of the marquee company's owner (and builder), it was eventually deemed unsafe to re-erect.

Luckily the weather played ball, and with an extra warm layer the majority of the participants were able to enjoy some ad-hoc alfresco dining before the 8pm briefing.

Today, participants are headed back to Coniston, with most courses heading out via a delightful journey down the Duddon valley, before cutting back across the Coniston fells and dropping back into civilisation!
