Elite Winners - Heather Dawe Print

Since 2013 we have been offering a splendid Heather Dawe print to our elite male and female winners. This year Heather has produced a very unique painting based on the actual race map and two limited edition prints are the prizes for the elite winners.

Heather is a highly accomplished endurance athlete with a record of significant wins across almost every adventure sport including fell running, mountain biking, mountain marathons, triathlon, adventure racing and of course the GL3D™. In recent years she has been painting and writing and has now published two books: Adventures in Mind and A Bicycle Ride in Yorkshire. Please check out her website HERE for further details. Historically, the GL3D has not provided prizes but we felt that as a previous GL3D™ winner, Heather’s prints would make a fantastic memento for our leading two runners.

Joey’s Coffee will be attending the GL3D™ over the weekend and competitors will be able to purchase really great, high quality Cafe Direct Fairtrade, barista served coffee. Certainly Joey’s Coffee was a big hit with the competitors and volunteers at Marmot Dark Mountains™ earlier in the year.

Environmental and Ecological Briefing

Ourea Events™ who orgainse the GL3D™ is making a very serious effort to minimise the impact each event has on the environment. This year for all our events we have asked an independent ecologist to assess our routes so that we can plan courses that minimise impact on sensitive ecological locations. Part of commitment to this process is to improve competitor’s environmental awareness and we have prepared the following document that we would ask all competitors to spare a few minutes to read. HERE
