START TIMES

Please check the final event information for absolute details. Ordinarily, participants should be ready to start between 07:00 and 09:30 each morning. We recommend that slower participants start early and fast participants start late. An honest appraisal of your own abilities will save you some grief with the cut-off times!

CUT-OFF Times

On all courses, there will be one checkpoint each day with a cut-off time associated with it. This checkpoint is generally a little over halfway through the day’s course. If a participant reaches this checkpoint after its cut-off time, they must follow the instructions explained on the event map (issued at registration).

Any participants who proceed on the full course after failing to make such a cut-off time, will be disqualified from the event. We make this point strictly, to best avoid anyone arriving well after our 20:00 course closure time. Our experience shows that the knock-on impact to our logistics, volunteer marshals and other participants is significant without such measures.

COURSE CLOSURE TIME

All the courses close at 20:00 on the first two days. Any participants arriving at the overnight camp(s) after the 20:00 course closure time are automatically switched to an easier course the following day. If you do think you are going to be late, please make every effort to send a message to the race director on the phone number supplied on the event map. The course closure time on the final day is 15:00.

EARLIEST FINISH TIME

The earliest finish time at the overnight camp(s) is 13:00, and back at the event centre (on the final day) is 12:00. The start times are flexible and it is the participant's responsibility to judge their start time appropriately relative to the speed they intend to run or walk. This is due to the chance that anyone arriving before these times will not be able to punch the finish box (if our event transport logistics are delayed) and therefore race time will continue until 13:00 or 12:00 for that person. Runners on the shorter courses should make particular note of the earliest finish time in particular, and time their start appropriately.
